Wall and wood floor painting technique for 2022(part 2)

In the previous article, we have differentiated the color of wooden floors and how to combine light wood floors and gray wooden floors with wall paint. Lets us continue to discover the best paint colors for medium, dark and cherry wood floors.

1. The most suitable paint color for medium-colored wood floors

Medium-colored wooden floors are used relatively commonly in modern homes, especially apartments. For medium-tone wood floors, you can choose the same wall paint color as for light wood floors. However, medium-colored laminate flooring is a bit more difficult to color, as it has a darker tone. Medium-colored wooden floors have warm tones, so the best way is to choose paint colors with cool tones.
Should: Deep paint color, like emerald green

Green is the opposite of red on the color wheel, so it's a great paint color for rooms with warm wood floors. Dark emerald green looks especially good on medium-tone wood floors. This paint color strikes the perfect balance between warmth and coolness in the space without lacking in boldness. As you can see in the image above, the additional use of neutral colors on the chairs creates a feeling of lightness and balance with the bold statues.
   Should: Cool blue

If bold and dark colors aren't your thing, try a lighter shade of blue. Soft, cool blues provide the same effect as emerald green, balancing out the warmth of the floor without being too bold. And if you simply prefer more neutral tones, choose a cool gray or white paint color.
   Shouldn't: Warm paint color

Warm colors, like earth, will feel similar to the color of the wood floor you're using and make the space feel too warm visually.

2. The best paint color for dark wood floors

Dark wood floors tend to favor cooler tones, so it's important to bring warmth to your paint color. It's important to note that dark wood floors when scratched leave a particularly noticeable mark, so it's not a great choice for homes with children and pets.
Should: Warm white or neutral paint colors

Bright and warm neutrals are a great way to bring contrast to your dark wood floors. Because the floor is too dark, you should not choose another dark color to paint the wall. Warm whites and cream colors look glamorous in combination with dark wood floors, as their warm tones balance out the coolness of the floor.
   Should: Olive green paint color

If you prefer more dramatic colors in your home, consider choosing olive green. This color palette looks great when combined with the cool tones of dark wood floors, This paint color will help add warmth, especially since olive green has more shades of yellow than other shades of green.
Shouldn't: Cool paint colors, like dark gray

Dark gray will bring out the gray tones on your floor and your room will look very dull. Not only that, other light-dark tones of gray will make your room feel heavy, dark and cold.

3. The best paint color for cherry wood floors

Cherry wood flooring is probably the hardest wood floor color to match with wall paint. Cherry wood has a distinct red color, and some cherry wood floors even have an almost purple color, making choosing a paint color even more difficult. It is important that you use cool colors, as adding coolness to your space will help balance out the warm red tones of your floor.
   Should: Light blue paint color

The light blue paint will balance out the extremely difficult tone of the cherry wood floor. Light blue color helps to visually diffuse the red tone of the floor and brighten the room.
   Should: Cold gray

If you prefer a more neutral color, choose a cool gray or white paint. This is a more subtle choice than blue paint, but it will still help balance out the red color of the floor. Another note is that with cherry wood floors, use mainly neutral and cool colors while decorating.
   Shouldn't: Warm paint color

Avoid using any warm-toned paint in rooms with cherry wood floors. Warm paint colors will increase the warmth of the floor and make your room feel overwhelming.
